On Baby Showers

I’m not quite convinced that they are integral to the continued progress of our society as a whole.

They are interesting, but maybe to just save the time and energy, set up a couple of laptops for your registry and have a bunch of drinks with the people you love.

Non alcoholic ones are good, too.

On the other hand, I did get to draw a picture of Quagmire from Family Guy in the context of a, “What will the baby look like?” contest.

There have been some changes

20120225-105605.jpgSo I’ve cut my hair.

What I’ve learned so far:

Sometimes, people who have not seen me with short hair before will ask, “Can I touch it?” and then touch it without waiting for an answer. I know this isn’t exactly like when pregnant women have to fend off people rubbing their bellies, but I am slightly more empathetic about being touched without permission.

The Unbearable Shortness of Tweeting

There is just something about the twitter medium that has always bothered me, but I never realized it until now.

I miss the long form of writing an actual journal entry. The ability to digress on a topic longer than 140 characters. It’s a great exercise in editing and being concise, but there are a lot of topics that are just not suited for the format.

Sometimes, I just can’t fit the snarkiness into 140 characters, and that bothers me.
