Busy weekend.

I hope everyone had a good relaxing Memorial Day weekend. Even though today, technically is Memorial Day.

ExplodingCat and Krasota visited, as did EBugaloo and shakailin. Always a pleasure to see all of them. I need to work my way out to Charlottesville and New York City, respectively.

This weekend was filled with food related mishaps.

I managed to drink three chocolate milkshakes by accident at the Silver Diner, and get free beer and food at Clyde’s.

There are just some days that you just want to walk

Today was a good walking day. The air was unusually cool for May. The rain was light, the kind of rain that falls like snow. Each droplet carried every which way with the smallest gust of wind. I started walking home today, but then got hijacked by the sheer enjoyment of walking. There was the bookstore to go to. Then there was dinner to be had. Then, finally, the long way home.

The area that I can cover by walking comprises a four mile circle. Day to day, I live the majority of my life within that circle. Today, walking part of that circle, I ran into my own history. At this intersection, she made that illegal left turn the night that I began to fall in love with her.

Further down, there’s the liquor store where I bought my first bottle of liquor when I became of legal drinking age. For the record, it was a small bottle of kahlua that I didn’t manage to finish for about two years.

A bit further down, there’s the restaurant that I always bring them to. Small and upscale. Private. Excellent decor.

All little bits of my own personal history, triggered by a simple walk down a busy street.

I’ve been here a long time.

So I just noticed

That my last three posts were about the Matrix. No, really, I’m not that much of a geek, but anyway, have you read the philosophizing over at corporate mofo?

Sure, you may not agree with it all, but it certainly makes for interesting reading.

Me, I just thought that there was too much talking in the first hour. And dammit, I guess this makes four posts in a row about the Matrix.

So. . .

Playing the Enter the Matrix game certainly clears up a few things after watching the movie. For those of you that don’t know, there’s a good bit of unseen footage in the game that adds to the movie.

Not computer generated cutscenes, but actual movie footage. Pretty decent quality, too. Beating the game also gets you new footage from Revolutions, which is nice. Things that you don’t see in the trailers.

Plus, Ghost is just a badass.

Matrix Plans

Well, I’ve taken tomorrow off just to watch the Matrix. . . And well, just to take a day off. It started off as a small thought in the back of my head. “Hey, I really want to watch the Matrix, and I really need a day off.” Then, suddenly, there were a dozen people taking the day off to watch the Matrix.

It’s not my fault, really.

The day off doesn’t mean much this weekend, though, seeing as how I have to come in and work on Saturday. Damn PEPCO power outages. On the other hand, it’ll be nice to have a day off and just relax. Plus, it’s an early show so, we can catch a decent dinner and a few drinks.
