Ah. Dave and Busters. Nothing like just forgetting for a moment. It’s amazing how much time you can spend in there and not know it. It’s like a casino. No windows to tell you what it’s like outside. No clocks. No indication of the passage of time. Good stuff.

Also good, is real food you can eat and not expunge in some manner or another.

Okay, I want to eat something. Now. Something that isn’t bread, or a banana, or applesauce. I’m talking steak. Not that I’m opposed to any other type of real food. I walked past a bakery, and everything smelled good. I caught a whiff of approximately twenty-seven varieties of pastry and bread type products, and I wanted every single one. Soup. Good lord, I love toast, but it’s got to go. You’re not getting a lot of culinary options when you’ve got those four ingredients. I’m getting some pho tonight. Soup, noodles, and flavor!

Another day, another chance to go to work and do the best job you can do.

Eh, who am I kidding. One week to go and counting.

Feeling much better today. Amazing what rest and a few liters of water can do. I’m actually up to rice with vegetable broth now. The dizziness and achiness have for the most part subsided. I’d still like to take it easy. Which for me, means normal songs on Pump It Up tonight.

Having spent half the day doing and folding laundry, I have decided that from now on, I will not ever get to the point where I spend half of the day doing and folding laundry.

Here’s an update on the Great Friend Takeout of 2002:
Venues Visited: Thai Room, Hooters, Clyde’s, Outback, Guapos, The Vegetable Garden
Discovered: Hooters wings really aren’t that bad. I’d start with the hot and go from there, though. Mild is merely. . . mild. Why bother at that point?

Health: 70% of nominal operational parameters.

And I thought luge was a crazy sport.

Here.

Yes. I’m at home now, merely reading the virtual paper. Enjoying the benefits of the water retention diet. Still experiencing some discomfort at times, but for the most part, I’m doing okay. Better than yesterday.

While I’m at home, I figured I would catch up on movies that I haven’t seen, but somehow own. Dark City is the first, and my goodness, that was one hell of a movie. I love the art style. And I’ve got a soft spot for the “dark lounge” music that Jennifer Connely’s character sings at two points in the movie. And yes, when you watch it, you’ll say, “Matrix.” But, keep in mind this movie came out just before that other movie. Fantastic. Recommended.
