Old Photo

There’s a photo that my parents left with me. On the back, in faded pink ink, it says, “Kodak Mar 77.” The monotype Kodak logo is faded, but a testament to their graphic designer.

It is still their logo today.

On the front, there’s a two year old boy. His black hair is parted on the left. There’s some baby fat visible in his arms, but not much. He’s standing in between a sitting room chair and a coffee table. The chairs are dark brown, intricately carved thrones that are the same height as he is. They have blood red leather seats. From his height, and the chairs, it looks like he’s snuck into a giant’s home. He’s wearing jeans and a sleveless t-shirt with some non licensed cartoon characters on it.

I’m guessing it’s the Philippines, but to be honest I really have no idea.  ’77 marks it as when I’m one and a half to two years old.

I’d really like to know what’s going on.

Happy Holidays!

Short break, just enough time for me to spend some time with good friends and food.  I wish you the same.

Never really made it to the grocery store yesterday.  Regretting it now.

Oh well.

Day Before

Well, it’s the night before the 25th, and you know what that means.

A last minute scramble to the grocery store because I forgot that they’ll be closed tomorrow.  I think I do this before every major holiday.

But before I go, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holidays.

She's the one

Yep, if ever you need to blame thank anyone for all the fine, high class content that you enjoy here at Lots of Monkeys dot com, there really is only one person you need to think about.

Now I know what you are thinking, “But his humility is his greatest weakness, he would never resort to egregious ego boosting pat-on-the-back posts!  That’s just in poor taste!”

Well, you’re right.

Truth is, it’s Mom’s birthday today and I just wanted to state that I did not, in fact, spring forth fully formed from Abraham Lincoln’s forehead with the deed to my DC condo in hand.

LazerTag: Remember this!

I am a big fan of the Lazer Tag subculture.  I can’t really do an explanation of the game justice, so I’ll just defer to one of the community experts.  I’m not quite as an enthusiast as some, but still enough of a fan to purchase equipment in the hopes that one day, I’ll have a large enough area to hold a large scale game.

Whether or not I’ll actually have players is another issue altogether, but hope springs eternal in the human breast.

I love the new commercials. Continue reading
